Diana is originally from Morgan City, LA. She came to New Orleans 11 years ago for graduate school. She has a Master’s in Molecular and Human Genetics from LSUHSC, New Orleans and a Bachelor’s of Science from Nicholls State University. She first entered the dental field via research at LSUHSC School of Dentistry in 2008. She has been working as a dental assistant for 3 years now and plans to apply to dental school to be a dentist within the next couple of years. Her passion for dentistry grows each and every single day every time she sees the smiling faces of her patients. The fact that we can get patients out of pain or improve people’s smiles on a daily basis affirms her decision for her career in dentistry. In her spare time, she loves going to Nola City Bark with her two pups and nannying. Her favorite New Orleans festival is the King Cake Festival. Her favorite New Orleans food is coffee and beignets. Her favorite Mardi Gras parade is Endymion.
Bich Mai, R.D.H., B.S.
As a patient, I never felt like my dentists and hygienists were educating me or taking the time out to help me understand the state of my mouth. I was curious and wanted to improve so that I wouldn’t have issues almost every time I came back for my recalls. But I would never get the detailed responses I was hoping for. Preventing issues for myself was my biggest goal. Once I realized that all of my dental problems could have been prevented if people would just take the time out to help others, I decided to pursue a career in dentistry (plus I was interested in teeth). I highly enjoy helping others get treated and seeing the big difference before vs after but my main thing is prevention prevention prevention. Tooth pain is the worse and I wouldn’t want that for anyone else.
